Lose weight for good health

Don’t skip breakfast. Whatever you do follow this advice, because otherwise you are much more likely in fact prone to binge later in the day. Do not skip meals in an effort lose weight. When you starve yourself your body reacts by holding on to fat. Also, when you do eat you are hungrier and are more likely to eat foods that are high in fat and calories. Skipping meals during the day will lead to eating later which will give you less time to burn off those calories. Stay away from junk food. Free your cupboards from foods high in calories and fat so you won’t be tempted. Don’t snack while watching TV. It’s acceptable to eat a meal while watching television, but never is snacking at this time acceptable. Get to know your foods and what they contain. You may be eating foods that you think are good for you but are giving you added calories. Avoid unnecessary high calorie foods. Instead of a high calorie salad dressing for instance try cottage cheese or yogurt to improve the salads taste and peel of the pounds. Don’t eat anything for at least an hour before going to bed. Try to eat a variety of nutrient dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean meats, high fiber carbohydrates, and high calcium foods. Substitute fruits like; bananas, watermelon, plums, peaches, and oranges for sugary treats like; cookies and candy. Avoid the white bread, rice, and pasta and opt for their whole grain counterparts. Look for 3 or more grams of fiber per serving on the food label. Complex carbohydrates provide important B-vitamins, minerals and fiber.
